Hello, my fellow Forbidden Girlies!

I'm Sigourney, the creator behind The Forbidden Girlies, a small independent business based in Manchester, England. 💖

If you've found your way here, I'm guessing we have a few things in common... a love for books, a weakness for pretty stationery, cosy reading days, and probably an ever-growing TBR that we'll definitely get around to one day. 👀

I've always been a physical book girlie, and I swore I'd never make the switch to a Kindle... until my bookish besties finally convinced me to give it a go. Fast forward twelve months, and I was completely converted.

As someone who loves creating just as much as reading, I started designing personalised Kindle inserts and charms to make my Kindle feel a little more me. I gifted them to my friends for their birthdays, and after a lot of encouragement (and a little push from those same bookish besties), The Forbidden Girlies was born.

What started as a few handmade gifts has grown into a community of readers who love romantasy, cosy reads, dark romance, pretty aesthetics, and adding a little extra personality to their reading experience.

Every design is created with love, inspired by the stories that keep us awake far too late, the characters we can't stop thinking about, and the joy that comes from getting completely lost in a good book.

My hope is that every order feels like a little gift to yourself. Whether it's a new Kindle insert, a charm, or another bookish treasure, I want it to bring the same cosy, magical feeling that comes with opening a new favourite book.
